English Certifications for Students TOEFL

The purpose of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is to measure the level of proficiency of non-native English language speakers. It is a widely accepted English language test in universities around the world. TOEFL can be taken either as an online test or as a paper based test. The former is administered fifty times a year in different parts of the world whereas the paper based version is only offered six times a year in those places where the online version of the test is not available.

However the cost will vary in case of rescheduling test, late registration, number of score reports ordered and supplementary test resources.

Students can register online in any of the authorized test centers in around 165 countries. It is advisable to register a couple of months before the test is scheduled.

Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL) is a broad term which covers both Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

This certificate is appropriate if the applicant wants to teach students in an English speaking country whose first language is not English.

Applicants should acquire this certification if they are looking to teach English in a country where it is not an official or primary language.

In order to get enrolled in a TESOL certification, a usual pre requisite is a bachelor degree. However requirements vary between different institutes.

These certificates are intended to provide training in the field of English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching. You’ll learn to prepare ESL lesson plans, evaluate and contrast different approaches to TESOL and acquire the skills necessary for communicating in a multi cultural environment.

Generally, the minimum requirement for teaching English in private institutes is a Bachelor degree along with one of the various types of certifications.  However acquiring these English certifications doesn’t authorize applicants to teach the language anywhere around the world.
