Azusa Pacific University College

Azusa Pacific University is located near Los Angeles in suburban Azusa, California, with its foundation being laid in 1899.It is an evangelical Christian university  and their beliefs and values form a central part of the university. The undergraduate student body has surpassed over 5,000 taking the total number of students to 9258 – this is the largest in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. The university also hires an academic staff of 1,131 and an administrative staff of 617 professionals.  Spanning across 105 acres, APU offers more than a hundred bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs with more than 40 national and international study opportunities. Students have the opportunity to opt for study on campus, online, as well as on seven regional centers across Southern California. Its graduates have easy access to financial aid and are equipped with valuable skills and highly marketable specialties.

 APU has established schools in Business and Management, Music, Nursing and Theology. It offers 51 undergraduate majors, 30 master’s degrees, 14 certificates, 13 credentials, and 8 doctoral programs in fields including social work, teacher education, art and design, and athletic training education. APU has to date 13 professional accreditations; some of those include the American Psychological Association (APA), the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), Association of Theological Schools (ATS), the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

 Perhaps the most eye-catching feature of APU is its online programs. So it becomes immaterial whether you are a student or a working professional, APU has fashioned out a flexible online format that is both convenient and affordable where you can easily finish the remaining course requirements. Students can complete APU’s online certificate training programs in just four to nine months. APU has come to be recognized as a leader in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.

Azusa Pacific University held its place for the fourth year in the most celebrated category of U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges in 2012 rankings, placing in Tier One the 170th spot in the National Universities category. APU was also ranked 16th in the Up-and-Coming Schools Category by U.S. News.  The Princeton Review included APU among 121 institutions in the 2012 Best Colleges in the West for the sixth consecutive year, and Forbes placed Azusa Pacific University at number 322 on a list of 650 colleges that represent the top 20 percent of all undergraduate institutions.

The university’s status should not be misconstrued as a Christian college only. Notwithstanding a strong Christian commitment, it offers multi-ethnic programs as well. Besides academics, it also offers numerous facilities to its  students, staff and alumni encompassing on-campus residence, writing center, math centre, Learning Enrichment Center, academic advising ,Trinity Hall, and the John and Marilyn Duke Academic Complex, and Segerstrom Science Center .
