Grand Canyon University is a privately owned and operated Christian university located at the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. The university was founded as a charitable organization in 1949 by Baptist population of Southern Arizona. Grand Canyon University was created with an aim to provide local Baptist residents with quality post-secondary education. The institution has a dedicated staff of approximately sixteen hundred people, led by the president of the Grand Canyon University, Dr. Kathy Player.
