Nova Southeastern University

The Nova Southeastern University is a private, not-for-profit university located in the Broward County in the state of Florida. The university was founded in 1964 as the Nova University of Advanced Technology and is now the largest institute of higher education in the Southeastern US and is the seventh largest private educational institute in the whole country. The university enrolls over 30,000 graduate and under graduate students and has a faculty of over 2,000.

NSU is classified as a research university and its programs are some of the highest ranked research programs around the world. The university offers a total of 250 majors through 175 study programs that are offered at its 18 colleges and schools. The university is well known for its health professions programs and is home to the only dental medicine and optometry school in South Florida while it also houses one of the two pharmacy colleges in the whole state. A number of the programs offered at NSU are also offered through distance learning.

NSU offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate and specialist degrees in addition to first-professional degrees that prepare students for careers right out of college. The large number of majors offered by the university including degrees in fields like marine sciences, osteopathic medicine, business, education, computer and information sciences,  dentistry, psychology, law, and counseling.

Accreditation
Nova Southeastern University reviews and accreditations have landed it at number 535 amongst worldwide university rankings. NSU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools while a number of the courses offered are accredited by specific associations and boards. These include accreditations by the American Bar Association, the Association of American Law Schools, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The university’s distance learning programs are accredited by international associations such as the University Council of Jamaica.
