Originally founded as the St. Joseph’s College for Women in 1916, this private educational institute has been offering a number of courses in liberal arts for almost a hundred years. The institute has two campuses in the New York State area and has been rated by a number of publications as one of the best colleges in the US. The college is a coeducational institute with a student body of over 5,000 and a faculty of more than 500. The programs at SJNY are taught with a liberal and open approach meaning that every student gets the chance to learn at their own pace and in their own manner. In addition to the regular undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the college, there are also a number of special programs on offer at SJNY. These programs include honors programs which are three semester courses that coincide with bachelor’s programs. The global study programs at the college offer both short-term and long-term courses that are held at locations all over the world. The adult learner programs at SJNY are offered to people who already have an education and experience in the professional world and are looking to improve their skillset with an added qualification.
St. Joseph's College Degrees Information
Degrees at SJNY include 23 undergraduate majors ranging in fields such as accounting, nursing, health care management, business management, education and human services. The college also offers nine master’s degree programs in disciplines such as mathematics, education, human services management and leadership.

SJNY has been accredited by the American Council of Education and is also recognized by the Association of American Colleges and Universities, the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, the College Entrance Examination Board, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League for Nursing.
